“Fashion is about change and, for me, the philosophy is always the same ... that the clothes have to be really modern and make women look really beautiful, ... But, it's fun to keep changing and to change the silhouettes, to change the fabrics and to change the color. Color this fall is really going to change too, because there is color,” articulated eminent designer Calvin Klein.
Yes!! It’s the season for changes, and there is no expeditious way of greeting a spanking new looks than to be truly painted in its hues. To make sure your strokes are in fashionable hues, OctanMen, online men’s fashion magazine summons you to the screening of Calvin Klein’s Ready to Wear Spring 2009 collection.

A white ambience welcomes you to the private gathering, so sit back, loosen up and take pleasure in being educated on the latest trends…
This 40th anniversary of the label spoke volumes of elegance, class, and sophistication. American television personality Tyra Banks and supermodel and actor Eva Mendes were the privileged one to sit in the front row.
All through the show, spotlight remained glued on the designs. Elite audience that embraced of the fashion editors and whose and who could not take their eyes off the ramp. Crisp, silhouettes, pressed lines of origami made for an arresting catwalk. Models grace the ramp by dressing in New York Fashion Week’s trademark harem pants…so much for change!! Fashion lovers were speculating de facto whether they’d be able to wear these clothe on the streets.
Calvin’s Creative Director Francisco’s designs appeared as if they were draped and folded in cubes. So, that the stylish sleeves of a dress or a jacket’s side panels gave a three- dimensional look. This innovative idea gave the gentle fabric an airy volume. When the technique was not on the face and was subtle it appeared phenomenal. A white strapless dress adorned with elaborate pleats and creases at the neckline....appeared gorgeous. On the flip side, over indulgence in folds and plates made the look boxy and square….which works only and only on the ladies minus the classic curves.
Architectural shapes, great coats, harem pants, and loads of white……..these were the key elements of the lineup. Dresses had bold broad shoulders that radiate authority. Pressed sleeves on the shoulders fashioned an illusion of separate jacket. The dilemma is you have to be tall, slim, well toned up to carry off the style. This exclusive trend is not for everyone.

Japanese motifs, hair slicked back, and minimum make up were the talking points. On the color front- white, nude, icy lavender, and polar blue….are the shades to be dressed in 2009. The outfits ended with strappy stiletto sandals. Thin and wise resin belts were the only jewellery models wore.
"Basically we put all the fabrics through a flattening process. A lot of the shapes got changed, were made them smaller and, again, organic as it was flattened. Wherever the pleat went, it stayed,” uttered Francisco.
Remain glued to OctanMen, online men’s fashion magazine, for more updates on New York Fashion Week.
