Few months back, after a lot of evaluation and thinking, Co –Founder Yahoo Jerry Yang decided to wear the coat of CEO. He desired to make a change at Yahoo and believed that he could. Today, he has brought along a modification in Yahoo, a change so big that the entire word is reading about it. Jerry Yang has brought about a change for a new CEO.
The Yahoo Group feels it’s the right time for a new leader to guide the beleaguered Internet search pioneer.

Under the leadership of Yang there have been a series of tumultuous chapters that have hit Yahoo.  As a leader this forty year old, failed to spark the required turnaround that companies like Apple Inc, Dell Inc and Starbucks Inc witnessed once their legendary founders or early leaders returned to the top job. In comparison to all their rival, Yahoo has reeled under maximum looses. It shares trade just above $10, less than a third of Microsoft's best offer six months ago for Yahoo of $33.

Born in Taipei, Taiwan on November 6, 1968, Yang shifted base to California at the age of ten, with his mother and brother. At the venerable age of two, he lost his father.  He graduated from Sierramont Middle School, and Piedmont Hills High School. Then went on to receive his B.S. and M.S. degrees in electrical engineering from Stanford University, where he was a member of Phi Kappa Psi fraternity. In April 1994, along with a friend David Filo, he launched a directory of other websites titled "Jerry's Guide to the World Wide Web". This directory was later renamed to Yahoo!

In his blog, Yang offers this assessment of his CEO tenure over the past 18 months:

Ever since founding Yahoo! with David Filo 13 years ago, I've been passionate about this company, its brand, its employees, and the millions of people around the world who consider it their online home. That's why I accepted the Board's request to become CEO in June 2007, taking on the challenge of transforming Yahoo! at a time when the industry was evolving quickly and we needed to rethink and restructure our business.
