The big bulky green monster is back! The Hulk is making a comeback on the silver
screen after a gigantic hiatus of five years. This time around Edward Norton has taken over as Dr Bruce Banner from Eric Bana while Ang Lee passed his directorial cap to Louis Leterrier in this new adventure filled sequel to 2003 hit action movie “Hulk”.
Possibly enough, we all remember that the Hulk was created during a biological research experiment for the US military, where Dr Banner gets exposed to gamma radiations. The exposure starts a series of uncontrolled violent attack including killing his fellow researchers and injuring his colleague and girlfriend Betty Ross (Liv Tyler) as well.
But Louis Leterrier is not left with much of creative options to make many changes in the already drawn Hulk character; all he does is to carry forward with Lee’s idea of Dr Banner’s character. In any of the situations Hulk is nothing more than a lonely oversized creature who is suffering from something that he seriously wants to get rid of. There is no beaming in his eyes; not even a single moment where the super-human character of Dr Banner is relishing on his newly acquired power. All he does is to roar like a wild African lion or at most tear heavy metal military trucks apart and throw them in the air.
Leterrier’s fails to describe the insane feeling of wild pleasure’s that a character like Hulk might be having considering the power he posses’ and size that can shake you down to your spine – but Hulk is just a big, ugly, angry guy!
Go watch it; but only if you’re in a mood for some over-the-top Hollywood action drama!!!
